Arch villain Chau Chiu kills hero Liou Ching-Hung's house, but when
Liou wants to avenge himself, the fight ends in a tie ... so Liou,
bringing along his student Chi Feng, his son Yu Long & his servant Ah
Fum (Peng Peng) wandeers the country for years, trying to find the arch
villain ... with little success. Eventually, too, his student Chi Feng
grows horny & tries to rape a woman, & when her husband tries to
interfere, slashes him. Master Liou saves the woman from being raped, but
Chi Feng uses one of his master's trademark killer darts to kill her, then
he disappears ... Unfortunately, the woman has left a daughter, Yu Sien,
whom Master Liou, trying to make up for his student's crime, takes under
his tutelage ... but little does he know that the girl harbous revenge
against the killer of her parents, & her only clue is a killer dart,
one of his killer darts. ... 10 years come & go, Yu Long & Yu
Sien (now played by Chin Ping) have grown into young adults, have fallen
in love with each other, their father/master has given up his plans for
vengeance & settled down, & iot seems the worst thing that can
happen is them being threatened by a gang of second-rate gangsters ...
gangsters who Yu Long & Yu Sien can easily defeat thanks to
their superior martial arts skills ... that is until Miss Lin (Sheng Yi)
the daughter of Liou's mentor, falls for Yu Long too, & tries
everything in her power to get him to marry her ... & even if Yu Long
is not interested, Yu Sien is overcome by jealousy, & runs off ...
& right into the arms of Chi Feng, not only the killer of her parents
but also in league with hte local bandits - & boy, does he know how to
manipulate her - he persuades her to show him the dart that killed her
mother & identifies it (correctly, from a merely technical point of
view) as one of Master Liou's ... & soon he has generated enough hate
in her to use against Master Liou - which can go both ways, as once when
Liou is captured by the local bandits, she, ignorant to the faact that
they are in league with Chi Feng, frees him, to not let anyone spoil her
revenge. Eventually though it turns out that Chi feng is also in league
with arch villain Chau Chiu, & Chau Chiu soon challenges Liou to a
duel, to finish what he has begun 10 year earlier ... & it is then
that Yu Sien tells Chi Feng the weakness of Master Liou's swordfighting
technique ... immediately afterwrds, he tries to have her killed,
but she is saved by Yu Long & Miss Lin (!), who has finally realized
she will never win Yu Long over ...& ultimately, Yu Sien is convinced
too that Chi Fend & not her master has killed her parents - much to
her shock. The fight between Master Liou & arch villain Chau Chien
has already begun, when Chi Feng races Yu Long & Yu sien to get there,
& to make it a little bit more exciting, Chi Feng posts his men to
watch his back - of course to no avail -, but when he finally reaches the
duelists & tells Chau Chien how to defeat master Liou, Yu Sien is
already there to save her master's life, & together, Yu Sien, Yu Long
& master Liou defeat the baddies ... Fun martial
arts/swordsplay film with people throwing all sorts of funny darts as
killer weapons ... but ultimately not all that significant & rather
old-fashioned, with its characters relying more on heroic posturing than
on good storytelling - let alone character development - which is not
essentially saying it can not be entertaining in a rather simplistic way.
