With the pandemic at its height, therapist Dr. Marcus (Timothy J. Cox)
has taken his business online, like so many others have - but listening
to his patientsover video-call just doesn't have the same ring as having
them on the couch for a face-to-face session, and the fact that he can't
help them short term only becomes all the more clear because of that -
to the point where at the end of the day, the good doctor feels a total
failure himself ...
This is really an actors' movie as it relies mostly on Zoom-call style
static camera we've all come accustomed to in the last year and a half,
and each of the cast is given their moment to shine in their improvised
short skits while the actual center of attention, Timothy J. Cox's Dr.
Marcus, isn't given any dialogue until late in the film (though his body
language tells more than a thousand words), but it's really brilliant
acting on his part as well, while his and Jamie Cox's direction might be
spartan, but totally fitting the story to make this a very interesting
and enjoyable watch.
