Fanny Hill (Shirley Corrigan) feels neglected by her husband, photographer Roger (Peter Bonke), who crowds himself with beautiful models all day long, so she asks her best friend Monica (Gaby Fuchs) to seduce him to have a reason to divorce him. The plan works like a charm, and that Roger actually had another girl hidden in his wardrobe while shagging Monica was only the icing on the cake.

Freshly divorced, Fanny - with Monica - goes to Hollywood, to become a sexmovie actress in no time at all. Roger follows her to Hollywood, the two have make-up sex ... and then Fanny flies off to Hong Kong for more filmwork. On set, she falls in love with her director (Bo Brundin), and Roger, who has come after her again, almost catches her in bed with him.

In Venice, Fanny falls in love with a gay marquis, so she dresses up as a boy to get him into bed - and when he realizes she's not the man he thought her to be, it's much too late to turn back.

In Munich, Fanny reunites with Roger, where he invites her and Monica to an orgy ... where he gets arrested, and Fanny has to make use of all of her female charms to get him out again.

Fanny now wants to get back together with Roger again, and Monica figures the only way this can be done is by having him catch her with a handful of lovers hidden in her wardrobe (?). For some reason, the whole thing ends with a (literal) pie in the face.

Fan fave Christina Lindberg makes a few short (but nude) appearances as one of Roger's models.

Around the World with Fanny Hill is a pretty pointless sex comedy. Sure, it's rather well-photographed, does feature exotic locations, some of the acting is decent, and there are hints of satire and irony ... but the whole thing just refuses to fall together, despite the film's best efforts it remains a rather shallow erotic flick that's not especially funny, especially when it tries to be.

That said, there are quite a few worse sex comedies out there ... but quite a few of those are actually a whole deal funnier than Around the World with Fanny Hill - if for all the wrong reasons.
