Jörg Wischnauski has been in the acting game for only a comparatively
short time, and keeping that in mind, his filmography is already quite
extensive. But that said, all of his more interesting films, with
underground directors like Marian Dora, Juval Marlon, and René Wiesner,
have so far (at the time of the interview) remained unreleased, despite
Wischnauski putting all his passion into them, often leaving his comfort
zone for the sake of art. And the longer the interview goes, the more you
can hear the frustration about this in his words, and with it aggressive
tendencies which he directs more and more at his interviewer, René
Wiesner. And the aggressive tendencies mount more and more up to a
disastrous finale ... There are three reasons this film is
rather fascinating, for one the stories and anecdotes Jörg Wischauski has
to tell about some of the wilder films from his filmography are rather
entertaining and paint a very interesting picture about indie filmmaking
as such, two because even though his stories might be quite unique,
they'll probably speak to anyone who has worked in the indie filmworld,
who has sacrificed a lot for a movie that might never come out, and three
it's just fun to see when the film breaks the mold of a documentary for a
cathartic finale - and all of this is making the movie a very entertaining
watch, actually.
