In 2022, John (John H. Shelton) received an award from the Kaiju
Festival for his documentary For
the Love of Godzilla, and award that has soon become the dearest
thing in his life. Now, while John's out and about, a man from the future,
Agent X (Pete Nata) has snuck into his apartment to snatch the award as
according to him it's destroying entire cities somewhen in the 25th
century. John catches Agent X red-handed but fails to get his award back
as Agent X is armed with a ray-gun, forcing John to flee his own place.
But after some justified grief about his loss, John trains himself to
tip-top shape to be able to face the foe one on one ... Now
this is not the most refined of movies, it was made on a miniscule budget
and is pieced together like a vlog more than an actual movie - which
admittedly retults in choppy editing and a few too many filler scenes.
That all said though, what's clearly noticeable and even infectuous here
is the enthusiasm for making this movie by all involved that's already
apparent with James Pyle's Criswell-like introduction and remains so all
through the film's often ironic playing with genre tropes and the like. So
in all, this might not be perfect cinema, but a fun watch all the same. And
if this has at all gotten you interested, feel free to watch the movie
