Alyson (Jennifer Mischiati) and Richard (Christoph Hülsen) and their little baby have just moved into the house that has been left to Alyson by her father (David White) - much to her discomfort, really, not only because he has committed suicide in the place but also because their relationship has been troubled since he has given her up for abortion at age 9. As soon as they've moved into, Richard has to leave for a business trip, leaving Alyson with much time on her hand to explore the house and subsequently her own past - and she finds a tape showing an exorcism performed on her as a 9 year old. Soon, too, Alyson has the feeling their house is haunted, and she subsequently calls in Father Elbert (Sean James Sutton) for an exorcism, incidently the same priest who performed the exorcism on her. But the good father never gets round to actually performing that exorcism because he's killed by whatever it is that possesses the house. Enter demonologist Dave (Douglas Dean), who soon gets the full view of what's happening: The house is haunted by a bride (Francesca Albanese) that has been killed here many years ago, with her remains hidden somewhere on the premises, but when she was killed she was pregnant - which puts Alyson's baby at special risk ... and before you know it, the baby has disappeared. Now to get the baby back, Alyson has to go into deep sleep to enter the haunted world to face the bride on her own turf. Now that already sounds dangerous enough, but it's more so as the bride has actually been instrumentalized by demon Asmodeus (Luciano Mancini), who tries to use her as a portal to the world of the living ...

A stylish and effective little spooker that might be based on a rather wild and far-fetched story but that at the same time has all the suspense and jump scares in all the right places, that's suitably gruesome and spooky when it needs to be and that's directed by a sure and genre savvy enough hand to provide good genre entertainment throughout, and a solid and grounded cast only help make this one work all the better.
