Growing up, Noah (Fabian Farina) and Lloyd were pretty much
inseperable, but their lives took different turns, while Noah wound up to
be a police detective, Lloyd lived a life of crime. Nothing major mind
you, but serious enough to eventually get him killed - and now it's up to
Noah and his partner Latoya (Staci Dickerson) do question his wife Karen
(Sarah Maria Paul) in regards to his death. And Karen and Latoya almost
immediately clash when the latter brings up Lloyd's life insurance. This
causes Noah to pay Karen another visit later that day, just to calm her
down - which eventually leads to them having sex. Thing is, there are more
angles to Lloyd's murder than meet the eye ... So ok, Dirty
Cop might not exactly re-invent cop cinema, but it sure manages to
spin an engaging yarn with enough twists and turns (especially given its
19 minute running time) to keep one properly entertained throughout. And a
dynamic directorial effort and solid performances of course also help to
make this one absolutely worth a watch.
