The crew of the Red Dwarf get a message that their robot Kryten's
(Robert Llewellyn) replacement model is due to arrive & Kryten is
supposed to shut himself down. Due to his beliefs in the android
heaven (which is basically what it sounds like, the place where the
calculators go), Kryten is son too unhappy to accept his faith, only
when Lister (Craig Charles) throws a party for him & he is actually
enjoying himself does he really begin to realize there's more to life
than afterlife & refuses to shut himself off. Problem arises when
his replacement, Hudzen (Gordon Kennedy) comes aboard & is actually
programmed to kill his predecessor model & all the humans standing
in his way. All firepower of the Red Dwarf's crew adds up to naught when
defending their buddy, it is only when Kryten causes a philosophical
dilemma in Hudzen by telling him there is no android heaven that the
android is finally shut down. Kryten himself does not suffer same
dilemma because he knows it was a lie ... Average
episode (the last of series 3) with some nice ideas (like the religion
of robots), but also some surefire misses (the party Lister throws just
fails to get even remotely funny). The Hudzen costume as well as the
actor (Gordon Kennedy) who plays him are pretty funny, though.
