Coming fresh off a convention in London, veteran scream queen Jackie
Butcher (Lynn Lowry) decides to spend a day on the heels of Jack the
Ripper (Dudley Sutton), visiting all the scenes of crime, and doing it
live on Facebook, too, for all her fans ... and to sell her merchandise of
course. Jackie actually feels a special connection with Jack the Ripper,
as her father, before he left for the USA, had been a butcher in the area
where the murders occured back in the late 1800s and might very well have
served Jack at one time or another. What Jackie doesn't know though is
that her little show brings back the spirits of Jack the Ripper's victims
(Charlotte Mounter, Lela Bergeron, Jennifer Morriss, Samantha Oci,
Savannah Raye Jones) - and maybe even more than that ... Basically,
if you love Lynn Lowry and/or classic British horror, you'll love this
one: Lynn's at her charming best for sure, and seems to enjoy her role a
lot, while the direction of the movie is very reminiscent of classic
horrors and focuses on atmosphere, helped by making good use of great
locations. And as for the film's story, it's sure to entertain you, it
delivers just the right balance of tension and fun, and it's utterly
likeable for sure.
