At the grave of his famiuly of all places, hitman Nate (Fabian Farina)
runs into his old army buddy Lamar (Tyrone Nathaniel Reeves) - who shoots
him in cold blood. But Lamar only hit Nate's shoulder, so Nate decides to
pay Lamar a visit that night to return the favour. And he's only prevented
from actually killing Lamar by the intervention of a feisty neighbour,
Jamie (Staci Dickerson). It's then upon Lamar to explain himself, and it
turns out he's deep into mob business, with up-and-coming crime kingpin
Vinny (Frank Volpe) pretty much forcing Lamar to kill rival mob boss Falco
(John Jezior) and take over Philadelphia with the blessing of his New York
boss Tony (Marc Sandler). Now Nate, Lamar and Jamie are quick to find out
the best way to end Lamar's dependence from Vinny is to team up with
Falco. Thing is, Falco needs quite some convincing to accept the help of
our heroic trio, and even then, instead of letting things end in a
bloodbath, he decides to talk it out with Tony, his estranged childhood
friend. And against all odds, he succeeds with his plan and strikes an
amicable deal with Tony. Thing is, just because Falco and Tony are friends
again doesn't mean Vinny doesn't want Falco's territory anymore - and he
doesn't shy away from using extreme violence against friend and foe to get
what he wants ...
I will say, some of the finer details of Sacrum Vindictae
II go a little over one's head, especially since the film spins a very
complex web of murder and betrayal, but that doesn't mean the film isn't
chock-full of suspense, action and violence, escpecially but not only in
the very explosive, extended finale, while its story flows along at a very
brisk pace, carried by a dynamic directorial effort as well as a very
capable cast, making this very solid genre entertainment.
