This time around, Jimmy Bondi (Rudolf Zehetgruber) and his supercar
Dudu work at a children's home run by nuns. And when they learn that the
nuns need a huge amount of money for repairs, Bondi plans participating in
a cross-Switzerland rallye - and winning it of course. Bondi's and
Dudu's stiffest competition are the Marchese (Ulrich Beiger), a local
aristocrat hell-bent on winning the race at all costs, and resorting to
every trick in the book to do so, Regozzani (Sal Borgese), Bondi's friend
who is also an ace-racecar driver, and two nuns (Evelyne Kraft, Kathrin
Orginski) from the children's home, who drive a Citroen 2CV with two
fronts (because they are so bad in driving in reverse, it is claimed). In
the end, almost everyone crashes, including Regozzani, who lets his temper
get the better of him, and the two nuns, and it seems it's a race to the
finish line between Bondi and the Marchese, but all of a sudden, Dudu
discovers his social streak and helps the nuns over the finish line first,
while the Marchese gets disqualified for all his evil trickery. As
far as the Superbug films go, this is one of the better
entries into the series. The film as such is pretty much a cartoon come
true - but not so much cartoon inthe Tex Avery or Chuck Jones sense of the
word but rather an episode of Whacky Races. Still, other
than earlier parts of the series, the film doesn't relie too much on badly
executed slapstick and old jokes and the story is not quite as silly as
can be, so it is at points even slightly amusing - and that's not
something that's necessarily true for some other Superbug-films.
